First Night As Mrs. Darcy

BLURB

In this short erotic variation of PRIDE & PREJUDICE, it is the wedding night of the ardent couple. Lizzy has doubts and fears, but Fitzwilliam will guide her through each one until she discovers her own wanton nature as they please each other and become truly married as only consummation can ensure.

Lizzy had never been in Fitzwilliam’s bedchambers before, of course, but she spent a moment admiring the elegant surroundings. Or she gave the appearance of doing so, but in fact, she barely noticed the luxurious furnishings, dark cherry wood, and silver and navy color scheme. Instead, her attention shifted and remained glued to Fitzwilliam.

As soon as the door had clicked shut behind them, he unbuttoned his jacket and dropped it carelessly across the wingback chair nearest the door. Her mouth watered with anticipation as she waited for him to finish undressing.

Anticipation and a strong dash of anxiety. Would it hurt terribly? Would she enjoy her wedding night? Would Mr. Darcy—Fitzwilliam—find her pleasing? Those fears plagued her as she stood in her dress, watching as her new husband slowly tugged at his cravat.

Apparently, Fitzwilliam wasn’t in a rush, because he contented himself with removing the cravat and unbuttoning his waistcoat, but he stripped no further. Her stomach dipped with disappointment, even though the idea of just jumping into nakedness was a bit daunting.

He sat down on the sofa, patting the cushion beside him. “Come join me, Lizzy.”

She laid her reticule on the chair he’d chosen as a coat rack before walking over to join him. Licking dry lips, she sat on the cushion beside him, wondering what was in store for her. Her mother had given her unclear and unhelpful instructions on what to expect. Hill had tried to tell her more, but the serving woman had blushed and backed away before she could finish describing what a wedding night entailed.

In her quest for knowledge, she had considered writing to Lydia to ask her about the mysteries of a wedding night, but she had reconsidered. The idea of the letter being seen by George Wickham was too shameful to bear. She could not bear the humiliation if he knew she was asking her youngest sister about sex.

Just thinking the word was enough to make her shiver, though she couldn’t decide if it was from excitement or fear. Perhaps both. Perhaps it was knowing she was about to explore the enigma of Fitzwilliam Darcy that had her nerve endings thrumming and her palms sweating. She blotted them discreetly on her dress.

Fitzwilliam’s mouth lifted in a half-grin as he pulled her back against the couch, while angling her closer to him. “I must say, I feel somewhat like a virgin.”

Lizzy looked at him solemnly. “Are you not a virgin, Mr. Darcy?”

“As my wife, you are permitted to use my first name.” His lips brushed her cheek when he teased her. “Dear Lizzy, I have known women before, but none that I have loved or admired in such high esteem as you.
