Chapter 2: t-SNE

In this lecture we intend to mention another dimensionality visualization and reduction method called t-SNE. The t means we will incorporate the t-distribution and SNE is short for “stochastic neighbor embedding”.

One big advantageous asset of t-SNE is really so it is more expressive than PCA so it’s a nonlinear technique.

Why research t-SNE?

2 reasons:

t-SNE had been jointly manufactured by Geoffrey Hinton, who everbody knows, is one of the main numbers of deep learning.

by doing t-SNE, we are seeing how the restrictions of PCA are overcome with a more complex model that is mathematical.
