A client who wishes to access the onion service should know about its onion address. Once the client gets the address, the connection initiation will be done by downloading the service descriptor from the distributed hash table to the client.

Then, the client gets the details about the introduction points and public key from the service descriptor and verifies the signature of the descriptor using the public key that is encoded in the onion address. This ensures the End to End authentication property since the signature is verified using the Onion Host’s public key.
