Chapter Six

MORNING ARRIVED AND Marcus’ head had cleared. Thank God for that. Nothing worse than a thumping headache to render you almost incapacitated.

His guest had been wonderful. More than that, Danny had saved his ass. He would probably still be working on that project without Danny’s help and calming influence.

Because that’s what Danny gave him. Peace. Strange, really, because he thrived on challenge, a fast pace. He understood his lifestyle was a problem. He would probably end up with a gastric ulcer by forty. Danny made him slow down, think clearer, and gave him a feeling of completion.

Marcus blinked and stretched. Danny had rolled onto his side, facing him with one arm slung casually over his stomach. He wanted more of his warm and comforting weight on him.

He turned his head and took a minute to study Danny’s face. He looked so young, so peaceful in sleep. Which he was, he supposed. He was young, though twenty-one was a good age. It was the beginning of adulthood, really.

Was he really going to do this? Start a real relationship with Sienna’s younger brother?

Well, why not? He wouldn’t hurt Danny and by most people’s standards, he was a good catch. Good looking, successful, financially secure and, he hoped, a pretty good guy.

A tightening in his chest made his breath falter. He had only been in a couple of proper relationships and they had been difficult enough with guys who knew who they were and embraced their sexuality. What would his life be like with someone who wasn’t out to his friends and family? Hell, probably. He remembered the lying and sneaking around he did before he told those closest to him. It wasn’t a fun time.

Danny moved his hand and shuffled closer, his warm body and affectionate nature making him hug him tighter.

Who was he kidding? He hadn’t said no to being with Danny. No matter if he was openly out or not, Danny was just discovering his sexuality and that was sexy as hell. The innocent happiness of a single touch was evident in every smile and gasp Danny made. To know he had been the only person to give him the sort of pleasure he needed made him protective. Possessive, even. The very idea that Danny would go off into the world and be picked up by another top made his jaw clench.

He pushed Danny gently onto his back, pulling the covers away as he slid down the younger man’s lightly muscled body.
