You can then upload this completed package to Apple with the Apple program "Application Loader". Firstly, however, you must create a data-entry for your program through iTunes Connect and complete your input there with "Ready to upload binary". After two more confirmations for data security, you can then upload your application (the package) with the Application Loader:

If your program is to be reviewed by the Apple employees, it usually takes 3-7 days until an assessment is carried out.

To stay informed of the progress, you can use a free app from Apple (ITC-Mobile). Below is a screenshot of my iPhone.
