Someone asks what kind of food she likes: “Ah!” she exclaims. “Well, it is personal, one’s food choices, as with many things. Most fathriked eat lightly by custom; we learn it in school, not to over-indulge. It is a form of attachment, to love food too much, and we are taught against all forms of attachment. I myself prefer fruit and broth and... I admit to a liking for nuts. Every form of them and every shape.” She licks her teeth a moment, contemplating with pleasure.

Someone offers her an essential oil: Her fur is... almost like felt. Very close to the skin, very soft and very fine.

“Not all of us are like me,” she adds. “Some Ai-Naidar have thicker fur... more like your velvet to the touch. And some of us have no fur at all on large parts of our bodies.” She touches you with great curiosity. “See, you have skin like ours, when our skin is exposed. Except you seem to come in fewer skin colors than we do. We have a broader range of pigmentation, perhaps. And these little hairs! They are so precious. Strange.”

She turns her hands palm-up so you can see the hairlessness there. She also has tiny claws instead of nails, filed down but still more pointed than the human norm. “We bathe, much as you do... and it seems, use lotions and balms also. It depends... some people are... ah... oilier? Is that a word? Than others, and some have drier, finer hair, and of course, some none at all in places.”
