We arrived in Washington the day of the rehearsal dinner. Vivian had been staying here with Kobe since the beginning of August and had made sure that things on this end were running smoothly. She and Alicia had planned a bridal shower for the family and a surprise bachelorette party, complete with male strippers for their friends. I made sure Vivi reminded each and every one of them to keep their paws off my wife.

My wife.

I wrung my hands together as we landed. In two days Jacinda and I would be married. The realization of that hit me suddenly and I began to sweat profusely. Cursing under my breath, I grabbed a couple of napkins and patted my face dry. This and she was something I’d waited for my entire life, but I was still afraid of the unknown.

I looked over at Jacinda, who was sleeping soundly, and started to calm. She was reclined back in the chair and had her hands lying limply at her sides. Her hair was in a messy bun on the top of her head with a few stray curls hanging out and framing her face. The dress she wore was a long, bright yellow, strapless summer dress that highlighted her darkly tanned skin and enhanced her pregnancy glow. The material was thin, gauzy and clung to her body showing off her round little baby bump.

I reached out and ran my hand over the hard hump. I smiled when the memory of seeing her at Ashton’s party the summer I returned to Washington came to me. She had changed so much in the six years I'd been gone. I shook my head and chuckled when I remembered the first time she kicked my ass in a game of hoops. She teased me

to no end about that.

Then I thought about our first kiss on the beach at the Rez. That was the day when I finally had to admit to myself that I was in love with her. And of course, there was the first time we'd made love in my tree house. That night was as epic as the events that followed. But our night in the cave was the memory that stood out the most. It was the night that I realized I couldn't be without her. It was the night we found each other again. The night we made our child, and ultimately the night that sealed our fates.

I lifted the armrest between us and kissed her lips until her eyes opened.

"We're here, Sweetness," I said as I moved down to my baby and kissed it too.

I felt her hands in my hair, slightly stroking it.

"You and this child are going to be inseparable." She smiled.

"This is us, me and you, darling." I told her.

"Yes, it is. And made with love," she said tearing up.

"With all my love." I told her and kissed her again, only slower this time.

"Boy, you are so far down yonder…" my Gramps said smiling as my cousins laughed.

I looked over at him and smiled then flipped my cousins off.
