Chapter 7

Collin paced the floor of the corner deli. This was taking too long.

Riojos should have been back by now. He walked back over to the large shop window, glancing out as he scratched his scalp. This wig was really starting to irritate him.

“Get away from the window,” Sal warned quietly.

Collin stomped back over to their table where his barely touched sandwich lay. “Something’s wrong. I can feel it.”

Sal snorted. “Riojos can take care of himself. He’s one tough son of a bitch.”

This did not reassure Collin. He wanted to see for himself. He paced around the table as he bit his thumbnail. There had to be a way to make sure his lover was okay. He glanced at Sal and then at the door.

“Don’t even fucking think about—damn it, Collin!”

Collin shot out of the door, running straight for the dilapidated warehouse. He just knew something was wrong. He could feel it in his gut. His feet faltered when a bullet whizzed past his head. Oh crap, he was being shot at!

“Collin!” Sal shouted as he ran after him. Collin watched in horror as Sal was shot at. Thankfully the big man made it to Collin’s side unscathed. “I’m going to throw you over Riojos’s knee and demand he beat your ass.”

Collin smiled up at him. “If you’re looking to punish me, that is not the way to do it.” He wiggled his brows.

“TMI, Collin.” Sal shuddered. “Now that we’re here, what’s your brilliant plan, brother-in-law?”
