The Planet?

‘Unbelievable…’ In the palatorium, Moelmos sat up, staring at his lost foot as it was regenerating. ‘No wonder dragonblood is crowned as the most precious medication in the world!’

‘Well, there could be even more precious ones.’ Halgon peeked at a sleepy Snower – she had been treating Moelmos, but she was exhausted due to her enhancing spells on the friends, so Halgon had taken over.

‘A freaking crab, talking crap!’ Sophie was still upset at seeing her friends suffer from such severe injury. ‘I hate crabs! They just have to step in others’ way because they walk sideways!’

‘You like them when you eat them,’ Halgon teased. ‘Anyway, we didn’t suffer any real loss. That’s fortunate enough.’

‘Speaking of which, how come the crab just let you go?’ Sophie suddenly asked. ‘And how come you changed clothes?’

‘Because they were completely ruined in the battle. And that’s why I had to stop sharing the vision, because you were watching.’ Soarame’s voice sounded teasing. ‘Are you gonna blame me for that?’

‘No?’ Sophie blushed, but she wasn’t going to be distracted that easily. ‘You still didn’t explain how you got away from the Baron.’

‘My short-distance teleportation scroll.’ Halgon sighed. ‘I’m sorry, I didn’t want to use it in the first place. I only had one.’

‘No worries, man.’ Moelmos was excited to see his foot almost grown back. ‘It’s a privilege to experience dragonblood, thanks to that!’

‘Are you crazy?’ Sophie stared at him. ‘You’re happy to lose a part of your body to gain that privilege?’

‘Lady, you don’t know what you are talking about!’ Moelmos stared back at her. ‘This is the legendary dragonblood! If Soarame weren’t Scankeen’s disciple, we would never get a chance to enjoy it in our entire lives!’

‘Scars are medals. Says the real man.’ Halgon gave him a thumbs-up and looked at Sophie. ‘You girls will never understand this.’

Watching Sophie roll her eyes but let go of this, Soarame breathed in relief and kept on with his flight. If he hadn’t experienced the lethal crises underwater, Soarame would probably never appreciate the preciousness of the direct sunshine and sea breeze. The fatigue due to the blankness of the scenery seemed nothing compared to the lethal dangers down there, so Soarame would by no means give himself any excuse to delay the arrival at Snowhill.

The only thing that Soarame couldn’t get over was the mysterious voice at the end of the battle. He had an idea in his mind, but Halgon had seemed quite frustrated since then, so he chose not to bother him just yet.
