Sigurd arrives back at the apartment after a light celebration in anticipation of the next day’s efforts. In contrast to the previous night, he feels confident as he strides across the living room and into one of those soft suede chairs. He entered this entire situation blind, going entirely off inclinations and leads, yet everything seems to be falling into place. The next day would be the deciding factor in whether he can put a halt to what Uni wants to accomplish. It’s a long shot, but Ragna’s note awakened a new-found plot that he is now utterly convinced will work. Whatever he does will need to shake the University so hard that bothering him or his friends any longer is completely meaningless. After tomorrow, he thinks, that may finally happen, and the next chapter in their lives can begin—free of harassment.

As he looks up from his comfortable seat, Sigurd notices a lone piece of paper on the small table next to the chair. He must have missed it in his hurry out the door earlier. He leans forward and snatches it, inspecting the well-composed script:
