“Did I send the invitations?” he said in a quiet, deep voice. The audience laughed hysterically. He began to sniff the air. “What is that strange smell?”

The audience giggled. They knew what was coming. “The roast is burning!” Mr. Smith shouted, running for the kitchen.

The kitchen was filled with smoke. Mr. Smith quickly pulled on his mitt and yanked open the oven. Thick, black smoke poured out. Mr. Smith coughed, and the audience laughed.

“Oh, no!” he said. “It’s ruined.”

The camera zoomed in on the oven once the smoke had cleared. The audience gasped.

In the center of the oven, sitting in a roasting pan, was Mia’s head.

Mia screamed.
