public interface pickups {

public with_pickup;

public with_preamp;

}

class steel_guitar: guitar, pickups {

}

class nylon_guitar: guitar, pickups {

}

class xRuntime {

static void Main(string[] args) {

steel_guitar exampleGuitar = new steel_guitar();

Console.ReadKey();

}

}

Instead of changing the definition of the superclass guitar to accommodate additional properties, you can just create an interface to easily add those properties to subclasses that need them and avoid those properties from getting inherited by other subclasses under the guitar superclass that do not need those.

To create an interface, just use the interface keyword and define the interface like it is a class. To allow subclasses to inherit from multiple classes and interfaces, you can just add commas and add the identifier for those superclasses and interfaces.
