6.3 Do...While Loop

The while and for loops test a condition at the start of the loop before iterating a statement of code, but the do…while loop is a bit different. This iteration structure checks the condition at the end of the loop. It is quite similar to the while loop except that it must execute at least once. Its syntax takes this format:

do

{

statement;

}while( condition );

As you can see in the syntax above, the conditional expression of the do…while loop is at the end of the loop, meaning that the loop statements will be executed before the condition is tested. Should the test condition return true, the program’s flow control will jump back to do, and the statement or block of statements will be executed again before the loop condition is tested after while. This process will repeat until the test condition returns a false, after which the loop will break.
