Vinyl and front door installed.
October 22ndâI arrived at the house today to find that all the guttering has been installed and the basement door too. When I got there, my grader was also there with his father trying to get the bulldozer started. Unfortunately the battery was dead. He decided to charge it over the weekend. Heâll then arrive at the house on Monday to continue with the grading, stump removing, stump burying and digging for the septic.
October 25thâUpon arriving today I found most of the wiring and panel box had been installed by my electrician. I also had seen where the grader had come, gotten his bulldozer started, done a little work, then quit. He might have had trouble with the new part he ordered for it.
October 26thâWhen I arrived at the new house today, the grader had dug a hole to China to bury the stumps. I spoke with him for a while when my soon-to-be-neighbor drove up. Heâs also the guy who will be making our cabinets. We spoke a while about the style of cabinets my wife wants for the kitchen. He took me up to his shop and I took some countertop samples home for my wife to pick out. I need to get back to him soon so he can start construction. When I walked through the house today it looked like there had been nothing new done. Iâm wondering why the painting hasnât begun. Maybe painters are as hard to come by as some other work crews.
October 27thâIt rained today so not a lot was done in the house. It looks like the grader pretty much stopped after I left yesterday. I went inside the house to see whether or not anything else had been done. It looked the same as it did the other day. I called my contractor to see what was up with the painting. He reminded me that they had to texture the ceilings before they painted. He said he had checked the house earlier this morning and that some of the drywall joint compound had not completely dried on the ceiling and that it had to dry completely before they could start texturing it. I told him I was concerned about the deadline. He told me not to worry that we would make the deadline.
