Chapter 17

Sarah

I pack my suitcase as quickly as possible, leaving my shower bag on top so it’s easy to access. I’m not sure if he insinuated. I don’t need to shower or that I can shower in the morning. Maybe, putting my hand to my lips, he wants to shower with me. I will not complain about that.

Chad and I showered together, often actually. He told me it saved on water, even though most of the time it saved him from having blue balls. Shower sex wasn’t fun, very slippery, and the water was always too hot. But…this isn’t Chad we are talking about.

I do a quick walkthrough of the room and bathroom, strip the bed, and stack the dirty sheets and towels together then slip a five under a pillow. I worked housekeeping when I was a teenager. I hated it. So, I try to do little things that make their day a smidge easier and a little brighter.

I walk to Chris’s room and see that he has turned the lock over so I can walk in. I knock lightly as I enter anyway, out of habit, I guess. He comes from around the corner and leans against the wall. Already down to just shorts and his smirk. Gah, that smile, those dimples, like dips of heaven. He brings his lip into his mouth, bites down and shakes his head.

“Did you get sexier in the last ten minutes? I think you did.”

Butterflies flap inconsistently in my stomach, and I look around the room, avoiding eye contact for a few beats. I’ve never been able to take a compliment very well. I let go of my suitcase to stand on its own and unzip the top enough to pull my bathroom bag out. I point to the bathroom, keeping my bag to my body.

“I’m gonna go, umm.”

“You can shower now but I’m just going to get dirty with you when you’re done.”

A stuttered laugh falls from my mouth, and he walks towards me. I watch him and my head rises the closer he gets to me. When he gets to me, he takes the bag from my hand and sets it on top of my suitcase.

“You can bring your stuff, but you’re not getting in that shower alone. Think of me as your own personal body washer. These hands,” he holds his hands up to the side of us, “want to touch every part of you.” Then his fingers weave through my hair and his lips crashes on mine. Euphoria, it’s a thing, and this man makes me feel it, with just his words and lips.

When his hands leave my hair, they go to the back of my thighs, and he picks me up. I grab my bag as I get lifted to him and wrap my legs around his waist. I’ve never had a man lift me like this. Chad always made comments about my thick thighs. Not always negative, but...no, there is no but, he was an ass. From what I can tell Chris wants nothing more than to have his hands and his head between my thighs.
