I’m the first to wake, my eyes fluttering open to find Brett’s arms wrapped securely around me. The events of last night, raw and passionate, linger in my mind. I lay there replaying the intense intimacy we shared. My best friend. Brett. He has been inside me. He has seen me at my most vulnerable. He made me see stars. I am momentarily overcome with a wave of gratitude.

I shift slightly, and Brett stirs, his eyes heavy with sleep, opening to meet mine. A soft smile plays on his lips. “Good morning,” he whispers, his voice a soothing melody that wraps around me.

He pulls me closer, and our lips meet in a tender kiss that quickly goes hot, the passion between us an absolute force. As the kiss deepens, everything else fades in importance, the magnetic pull of our connection drawing us together until Brett finally breaks for a breath, his eyes dark. “Shower?” The word hangs in the air, charged with the promise of continued ecstasy.

I nod, the prospect of feeling his touch, his wet body against mine, an irresistible allure. We make our way to the shower, and the cool morning air contrasts with the warmth of our entwined bodies as I stumble behind him, my arms wrapped around his strong chest, my hard length tucked up against his ass.

He starts the shower, and I take a moment to admire him now as the morning sun washes over him from the high bathroom window, making his abs shine, and his light brown pubes look like spun gold. I follow him into the shower, the warm cascade of water enveloping us, steam rising and fogging the glass doors. Brett’s hands are instantly on me, tracing the lines and curves of my body, reacquainting himself with the terrain of my skin. The night before was a revelation, but the morning light brings a new, raw clarity. We’re not just friends crossing a line; we’re something more, something that’s been building for years, unspoken but always present.

“I’ve been tested recently,” Brett murmurs against my neck, his lips tracing the line of my collarbone, sending shivers down my spine despite the warmth of the water raining down on us.

“Me too,” I reply, my voice barely above a whisper, almost drowned out by the sound of water splashing against the tile. The realization that there’s nothing between us, no barriers needed, adds an edge to the hunger in his eyes and the fire licking at my core.
