To develop this application, begin by creating a new ASP.NET web application project named COR using Visual Studio and configure it to use MVC and Entity Framework (see Chapter 1 for more details). Also store the database connection string of CorDb—the database used by the application—in the appsettings.json file.

Then add the AppSettings class to the Core folder and add two static properties to it, as shown in Listing 7-1.
