We can feed these twelve words into a BIP39 mnemonic algorithm which outputs a series of different accounts each of which have their own public key, private key and address. Behind the scenes, this is what the MetaMask extension is doing for us.

Getting More Ether

Before we start developing more complex contracts, we need to get some ether to work on the Rinkeby test network. Currently, we don’t even have enough ether on the Rinkeby network to deploy a contract. Remember that doing transactions and function computations cost some amount of ether. You can check how much ether you have on a specific network by going to MetaMask and selecting the specific network (fig. 4.1).
