“I think we missed the sunset.” Shae points through the crack in the blinds to the midnight blue sky.

“But I’m almost positive I saw the sun rise in your eyes when we were in the dining room.” Shit. What’s gotten into me? “Sorry. I sound like a lovesick puppy.”

She crawls on top of me and clasps my cheeks in her hands as if I could possibly take my eyes off her. She peers down at me, a serious expression in her crystal blue gaze. “If you’re lovesick, it must be contagious because I caught the bug too.” I reach up at the same time she leans down for a kiss.

“What would you say if I told you I never wanted you to go to Pleasure Ranch again?”

She gives me a mischievous grin and taps my nose with her index finger. “I’d say you’re in luck cowboy because I have no desire to be with anyone but you.”

“And what about the horseback ride I promised to give you?”

“Within twenty-four hours, you’ve already managed to get me back in the saddle.” She giggles and bends for a kiss that quickly becomes a raging fire. I sweep my arms around her and flip her over so I’m on top.

I gaze down at her, brushing the hair off her forehead, shocked at how quickly my world has changed. “And you are one excellent rider,” I tease. “Let’s get you back in my saddle again right now. We have the rest of our lives for me to get you back on a horse.”
