We are your friends.

And they all try together. The song is an instruction, and they all try hard to transmit thought energy far beyond the norm, We are your friends. Everything is peach. Everything is smooth and soft, it invites them in.

The sounds are all over them, they feel comfortable for the first time. It warms all of them. All the pain is gone and they start to telepath messages through the vast unknown. Everything will be fine. For the first time in her life Alba feels like it will all be fine. Their craft is held and safe and they are held and safe in it. Alba starts to laugh. Uncontrollably. She watches Stanley rocking his head back and forth in time to the music. They realise there is room. The walls of the ship dissolve around them and they all cry now, crying with huge smiles on their face.

Alba holds her hand in front of her face, like she’s never seen it before. They are floating now. There is peach and the palest of blue and some colours they have no words for. And the warmness that fills her is calming and bright and the happiness flows through her and the softness of the voice, the clarity and the melody of it. There isn’t a note of dissonance in it. Alba tries to summon the moments before, tries to find in her body the remnants of any fear or pain but it is all gone. Like it lies on the other side of the gate. As she slowly rocks she tries to look to where they were but it is gone. There is nothing but the right-now. And the love. Alba sighs out. The ecstasy is held in place by the sweetness. There is no sign of any kind of tension or release, it is all release, it is humming through her.
