The third issue involves making a network request to a resource that doesn’t exist. Just like in Chrome, this error is reported in the Console, but you may want to use the Timelines panel to see it more clearly. By default, the Network Requests data is not recording, even though it has a bright-red circle that looks a lot like the light you see on a video camera (figure 7.25).

Clicking it one time will tell Safari’s developer tools to actively start recording. As shown in figure 7.26, the red circle turns into a black square and it will say “Recording”.
