The Benefits Of Lucid Dreaming

When you’ve practiced and subsequently learned how to lucid dream you can fulfill your deepest desires and fantasies within your dream. People unfamiliar with lucid dreaming would perhaps see this as being unreal and even unhealthy. However that is a knee jerk reaction based on lack of knowledge.

The truth is that through lucid dreaming you can use your dreams to confront and overcome your fears and self doubts, enhance your creativity and develop new skills.

Dreaming - lucidly or otherwise - brings you into contact with your subconscious mind. When you dream lucidly you have conscious awareness that you’re dreaming and so have a direct pathway to the subconscious and can harness this access to solve problems in your life, learn how to get what you really want out of life and find answers to the difficult questions in your life.

However weird, wild and wonderful your fantasies may be, you can act them out in your lucid dreams. One of the main benefits of this is that you will be able to more easily discern from your subconscious where it is from within yourself that your fantasies and desires are coming from.

Many lucid dreamers report that they have better quality and more rejuvenating sleep overall and also improved memory function.

In some ways perhaps lucid dreaming could be broadly compared to something like autosuggestion and/or visualization, in that if, for example, you lacked confidence in certain situations in your waking life, you can lucidly dream of yourself in these very situations except that in the lucid dream you have no problem with it whatsoever and succeed in your aim instead of being hesitant or self-doubting. This gradually, sometimes very quickly, reprograms your subconscious self-belief system in such a way that the negative self-doubting belief system is replaced by a confident and relaxed belief system with all of the correspondingly positive effects that would have in your waking life.

There can be numerous benefits associated with lucid dreaming related to the particular individual who is doing it. The best way for an individual to start experiencing these benefits is to begin learning about and practicing it.
