CHAPTER SIX – TRADITION

Kissing Kate was a breath of fresh air. I passed by Ene whose light skin face had gotten flustered by the gentleman who sat beside her. I was happy for Ene, in the short time we had gotten to know ourselves, I was glad she was allowing someone other than food take her attention. Once in the toilet, I waited in front of one of the wash hand basins for Kate to come out - we were definitely not finished with this.

As Kate stepped out of the toilet door, I watched as she stood in front of me shocked "Wouldn't you wash your hands atleast?" I said, a smile on my face. She seemed to get herself back as she calmly walked to one of the wash hand basins beside me and soaped up her hands ready to rinse them. "So, we finally get to kiss after 3 years" I said as I watched her freeze again, she got herself back quickly though and tried washing her hands quickly - she made to run but I caught her in one grip. "Stop running Kate" I yelled. "Let me go Thelma" Kate said in a shaky voice "You don't get it, do you? I am never letting go again Kate. I am never letting go of you Kate so please stop running away" I finally said, I was completely defeated. I would let Kate win, I would let her take over my heart, she was the one for me. 3 years of distance and I couldn't bear her running away again.

If I was certain about something, it was that life had plans for us, this was definitely not a coincidence. Having Kate right in front of me being this vulnerable was my only chance to plead my case.
