We were having a honeymoon before we even had a wedding. We continued going out nearly every night to restaurants, inviting friends along more so now, though. Since we’d had over a month of snubbing everyone and spending all our time alone together.

Hailey’s girlfriends were getting involved in planning the wedding with her of course. Her dad was going to be paying for everything and her mum wanted to be involved on the day, but they were busy at the marina and we weren’t going to be seeing them beforehand at all.

We had a date set that was still another four weeks away. We didn’t want to wait. It was the earliest we could get a venue and everything organised.

Me and Hailey were doing the dishes one night when Mr Amity’s friend pulled up in the driveway and went into the house. It was the first time I’d seen him in ages, since the day of Janette’s 21st.

“That’s him. That’s the guy!” I had told Hailey all about what went on over there, as much as I knew anyway. “See!” I pointed out excitedly as we watched Lola giving the guy a cuddle and kiss hello.

“Yes, but that doesn’t mean anything, Archie. They could just be good friends.”

“Yeah right, that was a full-on kiss. That wasn’t a ‘just friends’ kiss.”

We continued doing the dishes and both watched the other house. Mr Amity was there too of course. We saw all three of them walking around, back and forth across the open doors to their deck. They were drinking and Lola eventually came outside to smoke. She was resting back against the deck rail with a glass of wine. The other man joined her and lit up a smoke too. I knew Mr Amity didn’t smoke.

“See they’re just friends,” Hailey was saying again, but as she said it the guy casually tugged the shoulder strap of Lola’s dress from her shoulder and pulled it down her arm until her tit popped out. He bent down and it looked like he was kissing or sucking on it while she held his head.

“Oh wow!” Hailey exclaimed.

“See, told you!”

Mr Amity came out as far as the open doorway and stood watching. The other old dude kept doing whatever to Lola’s bare tit. Lola took his smoke from him and dropped it with hers into an ash tray. Then she took the guy’s hand and led him inside with Mr Amity following, and we watched until the light came on in the main bedroom.

You could see three shadows against the curtain. It looked like Lola and the other man got on the bed and Mr Amity stayed standing.

“Oh okay, so they’re definitely doing it,” Hailey said. “And it’s been a while since the last time?”

“Yeah I don’t know. I haven’t seen him in ages but he could have been around while we’ve been out.”

“Yeah sure.” Hailey craned her neck to look again. “I’m just wondering if it’s only a sex game, or if Lola’s taking care of this other man all the time.
