Had the witch done some kind of torture spell on Hercules from a distance? Because nothing except for magic could explain the way he was drawn to that exquisite woman. He ached for her. It wasn’t normal, the way he was feeling. She looked as if the gods had peered into his sexual fantasies and crafted a woman to his specifications. Ample curves, a bosom he’d happily smother himself in, and that arse. Fuck. He was glad to stand behind the bar so nobody would see how hard his cock had become.

She danced gracefully, moving in that strangely choreographed way along with everyone else. Despite the fact everyone was doing the same dance, and even Alana had abandoned her work to learn the steps, it was the woman with light brown hair and blue eyes he couldn’t look away from. She had cat whiskers painted on her cheeks, and a violet stain on her lips.

He wanted to know what those lips tasted like, how they would feel under his tongue.

Yes, Illary must have cursed him somehow. It was the only way to explain this supernatural yearning.

Hercules struggled to focus on mixing drinks alongside Crystal, the other bartender on tonight. But more often than not, his gaze was pulled back to the dancing beauty.

After the song ended—for the second time—some of the dancing crowd remained to dance to another strange song, but others dispersed. The blue-eyed woman and her friend approached the bar and stood in front of Hercules. Both were out of breath, a light sheen of perspiration on their foreheads.

“Hello, barkeep!” the friend said over the jangling of her multicolored necklaces. “I’d like one of your finest ales.”

Hercules nodded and turned to the blue-eyed woman. “And for you?”

“I’ll have a gin and tonic.” When she smiled at him, a dimple appeared in her cheek, putting a crinkle in her cat whiskers.

Hercules got to work, too aware of the women’s attention on him. Since waking up two months ago, he hadn’t felt this kind of urge around a woman. And before that, in the Estrayla fortress? Anything he’d felt for his dalliances had been casual, like scratching an itch.

He’d barely spoken to this woman, and thoughts of her already consumed him.

But his first suspicion came to him again, as he delivered their drinks. Illary could be behind this entire thing. She could’ve crafted a spell to make Hercules lose his mind so that he would serve the queen.

He didn’t have time for feelings, especially fake ones.

“Have you heard of Interstellar Love Connection?” the blue-eyed woman asked.

He set down their drinks. “No.”

Her friend asked, “Are you by any chance related to your sidekick over there?”

“My sidekick? I don’t know any sidekicks.”

The blue-eyed woman squinted at Hercules. “Who are you dressed as?”

Hercules tried to remember what Alana had said. “A masked superhero.”

Exchanging a look, the women seemed to communicate without speaking. The
