Observation 3: Different structural motifs in a typical precursor are displayed in Figs. 3.15 and 3.16 noted from the paper [11]. Two arms of a precursor strand marked as 5′ arm and 3′ arm run parallel to the midpoint of the strand unless overridden by presence of other motifs. Stem is defined as the region where two arms run parallel with WC paired bases on them. If one section deviates from this straight line flow while other one continues in straight line flow, the deviated section is marked as ‘Bulge’. If two bulges exist on the 5′ arm and its counterpart on 3′ arm, then it is also referred to as internal loop. HPL loop and its associated stem arms cover a loop with WC paired bases on the stem left and right arm. The HPL exists around the midpoint of the precursor. In addition to HPL, if another stem-loop-stem structure exists, it is referred to as branch loop.
