Another benefit of an Isolated plan is that when you are working in a hybrid environment, the apps running in an ASE can take advantage of existing on-premises VPN connections. You might have a really fast connection back to the on-premise environment, and this might be a really interesting way to allow on-premise applications to communicate with apps that you’ve got running on your own VNet in an ASE. An ASE is a deployment of Azure App Service in its own VNet based on the new capabilities of ASEs, running in a separate stock-keeping unit (SKU) called an isolated SKU.
