“It’s the glow and the slight wobble in the walk for me,” Tamela softly teased her sister as they linked arms.

“It’s Vinny looking at you like he wanted to put your head through a wall,” Jenesia teased back. “Did you talk to the man?”

“No. What do you say to the only man that ever made you orgasm?” Tamela replied.

“You tell him thank you,” Jenesia said with a soft laugh, strolling with her sister to their assigned table. “I know I did. Over and over again.”

“Thank you is the last thing that man wants to hear from me,” Tamela shared. “I did him so bad.”

“Trust me,” Jenesia said, taking her seat. “Guilt is a bitch to live with.”

“Still kicking your phat ass?”

“It is,” Jenesia hummed. “I woke up to Cole holding Emerald to his chest promising that no matter what, he wouldn’t leave. I don’t know how many I’m sorry’s it takes to get over something like that.”

“I think whatever sorry’s you said into the mic stuck. Cole seems to be settling into fatherhood well, and honestly, I think you being back and you two heading in the right direction outweighs that,” Tamela shared.

“I hope so.”

“You know… this is a brunch. We’re supposed to be drinking bottomless mimosas and getting unsolicited advice from these women,” Tamela said, pouring herself and her sister a glass. “Stop living in your head. Cole has forgiven you and you’ve forgiven him. It’s time to move on. Not to mention that man had me interview a dozen part-time nanny’s. You’re child-free until three, drink up.”

Tamela pushed the glass to her sister’s lips. Both of them needed a series of drinks. For Tamela, she needed to forget she was gearing up for a divorce while having to share space with the man that wanted to be chosen. Jenesia needed to let her hair down and live in the present instead of being so consumed with the past.
