I consider my options for what I should try to type in to try for another possible passcode for my phone. This will be guess number eight. So far, I’ve tried Cal’s birthday, my birthday, our old college address, 1-1-1-1-1-1, 6-9-6-9-6-9, and various other combinations.

“If you don’t get it right this time, you can’t even try again for fifteen minutes because the phone will lock you out,” Cal warns me from the other side of the table by the pool. I can barely hear him over the sound of the splashing and laughing from the girls, Rogan, Wes, and Donovan playing volleyball next to us. Harrison left bright and early this morning before I woke up, off to see his little beach shop girl again, no doubt.

“Did you hear me, Micah?” Cal asks.

“Yes, I heard you!”

“If you’re wrong a ninth time, it will be sixty minutes.”

“Uh-huh.”

“On the tenth wrong guess, you’re fucked.”

“Awesome,” I mutter.

The blonde woman on my lap begins talking insistently about how happy she is to be here and yada, yada, yada, which isn’t helpful for trying to think.

“So?” she eventually asks. If not for my now soaking wet boardshorts, I would have forgotten she was still there. I had dried off before she came and sat her dripping wet ass on me.

And while I would usually love getting my dick wet, I’m not even feeling it today.

“So what?” I reply without looking up from the infuriating phone screen.

“So, which of these should I post?” She shoves her phone right in front of my face so that it’s nearly touching my nose. Then, she starts swiping her finger back and forth between two identical selfies of me and her that she took as soon as she sat down.

Without even asking.

I glance at them for half a second. “I don’t know. They look exactly the fucking same to me,” I remark before pushing her phone away to stare down at mine.

She scoffs indignantly. “They’re totally different! The second one has the portrait lighting while the first is the natural sunlight coming in through the glass.”

“Whatever you say.”

“I’ll post the second one,” she finally decides just as I try the code 1-2-3-4-5-6.

Eeeer. Wrong answer yet again.

“Done!” the blonde exclaims happily. Her arm slides around my shoulders, and then she leans in close to whisper not so quietly, “Don’t you want to go up to your room? I’m dying to see it. I bet your bathroom is huge. And the closets.”

I should want to go upstairs to my bedroom with Misty or Mitsy here, but I don’t. I had my pick of all the women last night, and did I sleep with any of them?

Hell no.

And that pisses me off.

I refuse to even admit that truth to the guys. They would give me so much shit or rush me to the hospital since I would normally have to be dying to turn a beautiful woman down, much less a dozen.
