Knox jumped between the two quarrelers, “You both are morons. Get back to the portal. I am sick of hearing your shit.”

“Gladly,” scathed Shadback as she began stomping off to the portal site.

Knox suddenly punched Necro in the face. Necro was completely caught off guard by the sneak attack.

“What the hell?” asked Necro as he put his hand to his face to check for blood.

“Act like a man. Don’t get yourself into childish quarrels with women. You are better than that,” Knox spat with a death glare.

“Alright man, gotcha.”

The punch gave a little boost to my chaos core. Maybe I should ask him to do it again?

“I don’t know why you are choosing to keep your wound and not heal it. You will use a potion before we go back to the Quarters. I cannot have you bleeding all over the floors.”

“Fair enough, my experiment has given me the intel I needed.”

Necro’s chaos core had slowly been filling from the leg wound. The punch put his core a little over half full. He would begin to explore any exploits he could come up with.

They reached the portal, and Necro drank a vial of health potion. The liquid was sweet and warmed his throat. The bleeding stopped as well as the pain. Within seconds, his flesh looked whole once more.

Knox held out his hand which contained a small bit of ginger root, “Here, eat this, no discussion, it will help with nausea. I don’t want you throwing up in the portal room. I would never hear the end of it from Eldon.”

Necro started to protest, and then decided it was futile. He took the ginger root and swallowed it. Hopefully, it would do the trick. Shadback was tapping her feet, showing her impatience.

All three of the travelers entered the pink swirling energy and warped back to the portal room in the Skull Quarters. The dizziness was still there, but he was able to avoid falling down this time. The ginger root did help him with nausea. He was still sick, but nowhere near the extent of his first trip through.

Necro heard a slow clap and turned to the sound. It was Shadback as she walked out of the room.

“Follow me back to the throne room, and we will update the War Chief,” commanded Knox.

They made their way quickly to the throne room, and they found Durzum sitting on his throne once more.

How long does this man sit on that bony monstrosity on a daily basis?

“Necro, you have returned. How was your trip?” asked Durzum.

“Pretty good. We killed all the kobolds.”

“Excellent, now, Shadback and Knox, what were your impressions of Necro in battle? Is he special?” asked Durzum.

“I found him to be reckless and sloppy,” replied Shadback.

“This is really going to happen while I am here? Do you want me to leave the room?” asked Necro.

“No. You need to hear what they say. We have no secrets here. Please keep your mouth shut until they are done,” replied Durzum.

Necro sighed and crossed his arms.
