Chapter Fourteen

The next day I awoke in a daze. It felt like the ecstatic mounds of pleasure that Fyora’s insane body had heaped on me were still lingering behind, but in reality it was just how early it was.

Fyora’s gentle touch shook me from side to side.

‘What time is it?’ I said groggily.

‘Sun-up,’ she whispered back to me. ‘You must leave before anybody arises. If they discover that you are here, then it will spell trouble for both of us!’

I pulled back the covers and hopped out of bed. I searched around for my clothes and couldn’t find them anywhere until Fyora spun around with them heaped in her hands and passed them to me.

‘These have been washed,’ I said. ‘When…?’

‘I did them while you were sleeping,’ she answered casually.

‘You woke up in the middle of the night to clean my clothes?’

‘I was bored, Master Jack,’ she shrugged. ‘We voira ladies have so much energy that we rarely sleep much.’

‘Right,’ I smiled, going with it.

I pulled on my clothes messily, made half an effort to straighten myself up, and crossed to the door.

Just as I did, hurried footsteps sounded in the hallway, and a long procession of doors being knocked upon began.

‘The morning is here, ladies,’ Suria’s voice spoke outside in the corridor. ‘Duties are to commence.’

‘Shit,’ I muttered.

‘The window!’ Fyora said.

‘Are you serious?’

‘Your wives occupy the room just next door to this one,’ she replied. ‘All you have to do is climb along the ledge, get inside, and nobody will ever know that you were here.’

Not exactly a sophisticated plan, but a practical one.

Sold.

I pried open the window and quickly looked out. No company.

I had an exit.

I climbed out and straddled the ledge.

‘Wait!’ She whispered hastily.

I turned from the window. Fyora rushed over to me and pressed her hands to my stubbly jaw, drawing me in for a passionate kiss.

I wanted it to carry on even as she drew away from me.

‘That sure woke me up,’ I said, blinking wildly.

‘Go!’ Fyora laughed quietly, glancing over her shoulder at the door.

I dodged away from the window, clinging to the stone ledge and hanging in the air just as the door opened.

‘Good morning, Fyora,’ Suria said politely. ‘Time to commence morning duties.’

‘I am just about to get dressed, Lady Suria.’

‘Wonderful. I shall see you downstairs. Breakfast must be served for Master Jack and his wives.’

Suria left and the door closed.

To my surprise she wasn’t a complete ball-buster with the maids – if anything she was really nice to them.

A moment later Fyora ducked her head out the window, set her eyes on me and let out a hysterical laugh.

‘Go!’ She whispered loudly. ‘What are you still doing there?’

‘Just a little light reconnaissance to make sure that Lady Suria treats the maids right,’ I winked.

I climbed along the ledge and dropped down outside the next room.

I tapped on the window lightly. A moment later the curtains hurtled open at the hands of Talia who smiled back at me with an inquisitively raised eyebrow.
