Chapter 13

Andy POV

I STARTED FIDGETING with my hands and stared out into the ocean as I spoke. “That's not the whole story, I never told anyone not even Lex, but I know why the Alpha requested they come visit quickly. I was walking with my mother and a hunter jumped out at us. He grabbed my mother and I reacted.”

“I shifted.” I whispered.

“Rea honey, breakfast is ready.” My mother yelled.

"Coming." I yelled back, running downstairs. The smell of pancakes grew stronger as I approached the kitchen. In the kitchen, my mother was standing at the counter with a plate of chocolate chip pancakes, smiling at me as I entered.

"Rea sweetie, can you fetch your father. He's in his office again." I nodded and walked towards my father, knocking on the door impatiently. Nothing, sighing, I went inside. He was sitting at his desk, running a hand through his hair. Something was worrying him; he always does this when he’s worried.

It was only then that I noticed the phone in his hand. "She's going to do it; I haven't changed my mind. I told you this all before, I don't understand why you keep bringing it up Michael."

He seemed to realize that he wasn't alone anymore, looking up his eyes met mine and he smiled.

"Goodbye." He said quickly before hanging up the phone.

"When did you get here, kiddo?" he asked as he walked towards me. Staying silent, he picked me up, tickling me so that I giggled.

As I giggled, I said, "Stop, mom said breakfast was ready." He threw me over his shoulder. "Well then, let's not keep her waiting."

Once breakfast was over, my father went straight back to work, my mother cleaned up the table, and I went to my mother's music room. The walls were red, and the room was empty aside from her massive grand piano in the centre of the room, it was my favourite room in the house. When she moved in, my father designed it for her.

My mother interrupted my thoughts, "I thought you'd be in here, shall we have another lesson?"

My mother played the piano with ease and I loved watching her play, so I nodded as she walked to it.

We always took a walk through the pack lands after my lesson. Mom always says that it is essential for the pack to see their Luna and future Alpha, as well as to remember what a part you play in this pack.

Letting go of my mother's hand, I ran through the trees; a dense forest surrounded us, making it seem like something out of a fantasy. My mother called after me, but I ignored her. I kept running until it started to feel wrong, something wasn’t right.

Run! Not stopping to wonder who said that I just ran. Before I reached my mother, I saw a man aiming a gun at her. I ran towards her without thinking, just reacting. Although I felt every bone and muscle in my body shifting, I kept running, leaping before the stranger could shoot his gun.
