Spa treatment! For sure I am worth it!

To my great delight, we were able to watch Dr. House when we returned home from the spa. Cara and Fromage had their coats brushed by Missy and their nails cut. So we all looked very well groomed that evening watching Dr. House and enjoying a bit of yogurt with Missy, who was having a light supper of soup herself. Only Missy and I are addicted to Dr. House. Fromage was lying on his back with his paws in the air, close to us, dreaming of his cheese shop and giving a long winded description of his new cheese venture to Charlotte. Cara cuddled next to Missy, sound asleep. Missy and I were glued to the television screen enjoying how Dr. House unraveled the mysterious ailment of his patient. I imagined myself for a moment in Dr. House’s brilliant shoes.

After House went away from the box, Missy decided that we should have an early night since the photographer and journalist were visiting us the next day. So, after she had taken a bath while we played with the water in her bath tub and she had gone around closing the windows, we went to bed with Missy. She was tired from running around getting the shop ready with Jacques and Genevieve. Fromage, Cara and I, knowing that our sleep would be broken, were determined to have a good nap before the clock struck midnight. During bath time, Charlotte had gone to her new cage to practice her spinning laps. I have never known anyone so keen on exercising. I whispered to her that she should rest too as we had decided to take her with us to introduce her to the rest of the new clique.

We slipped out at midnight and entered Monk’s silent house. Charlotte was on Fromage’s neck clinging on to the fur on the back of his neck inside his shawl. Monk and Terrance were waiting for us in the library. Fromage introduced Charlotte as his best friend to both Monk and Terrance, after which we made ourselves comfortable. Monk was cool about it and a perfect gentleman in his welcome of Charlotte to his abode.

Monk told us that Terrance had reported that Solo and Hobbs were on the case. Solo was talking with his detective friend to see what the police had done so far. Hobbs was going from house to house in the neighborhood to see if anyone noticed anything unusual around Polo’s house that morning. So far the search had not resulted in anything concrete as the neighborhood was very quiet and not many people noticed what was happening next door, given the sizes of the compounds. If someone came in from the back entrance nothing much would be noticed. But everyone Hobbs had spoken to had assured him that no unknown faces had been seen lurking in the vicinity.

I gently asked Monk and Terrance what they knew about the Señora. I mentioned to them that Polo had said that she did not move around as before and was mainly cloistered in her house.
