Chapter ten

Taryn

I loved the heat of the Underworld. Breathing in the familiar scent of ash, I signed in contentment. Though I loved my perfumes, there was nothing better than the aroma of burning souls.

Quickly, I walked the dark path that would lead me to the throne where Lucifer could normally be found as he played with his demons. My heels clacked on the obsidian floors as I approached his throne room, sure that I would walk into an orgie.

“Taryn! How is my favorite debaucherous little succubus?” His deep voice was gravely, not at all fitting his small stature. Anyone would be surprised that the Lord of the Underworld was a tiny little man who wasn’t intimidating by looks at all.

“Luci! Where’s the party? It isn’t like you to be alone,” I replied cautiously as I eyed him. He hadn’t moved from his throne of skulls.

“Come on, Tare. You know me better than that. I always know when you’ll be paying me a visit. I just don’t know why.” He raised a thick, dark brow as he waited for my answer.

I strutted up to him, my hips swaying a little extra for his viewing pleasure. Lucifer’s eyes automatically went to them and when I stopped in front of him, they rose to my tits. Predictable was what he was.

“Sit with me, Taryn. Tell me what it is you seek,” his voice filled with his desire for me.

I listened, straddling his lap and running my fingers through his red and black hair. “I’ve heard you have something I need,” I said suggestively as I moved to rub his horns, a move that turned him basically into a purring cat. It was the one secret I knew about Lucifer and he was putty in my hands.

“I can give you anything you need,” he answered in a haze.

“Promise?” I asked innocently as my fingers rubbed the most sensitive spot.

“I swear it,” he groaned in pleasure, his tiny little cock hardening beneath me. I had him exactly where I wanted him.

“Oh, Luci, darling, I need the palladium blade that is used to kill witch cambion hybrids.” My voice remained a purr.

“As you wish,” he replied, sealing the oath before he realized what he’d agreed to. “Wait, that’s not right. You play dirty, Tare!”

I laughed lightly, “You created me to be this way. I happen to be your best one and you know it.”

He gripped the arms of his throne as I got off his lap and stood in front of him again, my arms crossed. “A deal is a deal,” I reminded him, noticing his eyes were focused on my cleavage.

He stayed silent for a moment before letting out a deep growl. “Fine, but I expect more of a payment when you bring it back.”

“You know damn well this is the payment of the soul you insisted I bring you.”

“I didn’t think you’d figure it out.” His pupils flared, and I was sure it was because he wouldn’t have me in the end.

My stomach dropped as I realized he held all the cards.
