The Lord is My Shepherd

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. [God] makes me lie down in green pastures; and leads me beside still waters. –PSALM 23:1-2

LET US PRAY

Great and gentle Shepherd, we need you with us so much. When we are hurting, or tired, or anxious let us feel you very near us. Help us feel the “green pastures” of your love and the “still waters” of your peace. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.

Our Soul Waits for the Lord

Our soul waits for the Lord; [God] is our help and shield. Our heart is glad in [the Lord], because we trust in [God’s] holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.

LET US PRAY

Our infinite and caring God, we rejoice with great joy knowing that we are not adrift, all alone, with no one who cares for us or loves us. We have you, and all the people who trust in you, who are there to care and to love us. O God, make us messengers of your love to those who need that love; and givers of food to those who need it, so they may live. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.
