Next, take a snapshot of the home directory:

Remove a test file, and check the storage usage:

On line 3, 0 bytes are available for use in layne’s home directory. After removing testfile2, 1.82MB is available. Notice also that the used storage has not changed because the file testfile2 is still in the snapshot.

Using a refquota property, the file system continues to grow until the refquota limit is reached. A file system with a refquota set means that space that is consumed by descendents can grow until a parent file system quota is reached or the pool’s available capacity is reached.
