CHAPTER 5

Leo

Leo resisted the urge to sag with relief. Sophie’s icy exterior always seemed like an impenetrable fortress, but finally, at long last, she allowed a crack to surface. They needed to push their advantage now, before she could seal it back up.

If they didn’t help her expose all the pieces of herself she hid from the world, the woman was going to explode.

And he thought he knew exactly what she needed.

“Mason, I need your tie.”

Mason didn’t bother asking why Leo couldn’t use his own tie. He didn’t even seem surprised. He simply removed the garment in question and handed it over.

Sophie hadn’t moved when Mason released her hair, not even to straighten her neck. “Relax,” Leo said, gently massaging the strained muscles in her shoulders and neck until she untensed them. “Close your eyes for me.”

She breathed a sweet, relieved sigh as her eyelids fell. But then her breath hitched as Leo arranged Mason’s tie over her eyes, knotting it tightly enough that she wouldn’t see even a hint of light around the edges. She reached up, running her hands over the blood red silk, her lips slightly parted.

All three men watched her with an admiration bordering on reverence. The sight of her was intoxicating.

Leo was the first to shake himself from the stupor. While the other two continued to stare, he gently tugged her hands away from her face, bringing them down to the small of her back. “Wrists together, Sophie.”

She obeyed him immediately, staying perfectly still as he removed his own tie, binding her hands with the silver-gray silk. Her only movement was the rapid rise and fall of her chest.

“Do you know why I blindfolded you?” Leo asked, trailing his fingers across her shoulders as he circled her.

Goosebumps rose on her skin, and she shuddered beautifully. “No, Sir.”

“I did it because I don’t want you worrying about us, studying our facial expressions and body language, trying to figure out the right way to act.” Stopping in front of her, he knelt and cupped her face in his hands, running his thumbs along her high cheekbones. “I don’t want you to think, or worry, or analyze. I just want you to feel. Focus on you and only you.”

A worried frown pulled at the corners of her mouth. “I’m . . . not really sure I know how to do that, Sir.”

“Well, then, let’s see if we can help you along.” Grasping her waist, he pulled her up with him when he stood. Once she was steady on her feet, he caught Aiden’s eye, motioning toward the sofa.

He expected Aiden to grin, celebrating his good luck. Instead, he had a look of utmost focus when he settled in the center of the sofa, as if the task at hand deserved all the effort he could give it.

“I’ve got you,” Leo said, leading her toward the sofa with a hand on her upper arm. Even with her eyes covered and her hands behind her back, she moved across the room as gracefully as a ballerina.
