“When he talks about ‘I’m aware of other times,’” Keely argued, “honestly I think if most of the people are honest about what they’ve read or heard, we haven’t asked them in front of everybody else, what they’ve read or heard because of concerns about contamination of the jury, but a lot of them are going to say they’ve heard that. It’s been in the paper at least twice and on the news media.”

I was taken aback. Keely’s argument seemed to be that all of the jurors likely had such pre-formed opinions about Amber, so we just needed to accept it.
