Day 1: The Twins

Dear diary:

Finally out of LA - my long across country journey has begun. I hope it will lead me to the answers I’ve been searching for. I leave with only a backpack containing minimal supplies and eight hundred dollars. I’ll leave the rest to fate and my own ingenuity.

Being an attractive twenty five year old woman my friends think I’m crazy for taking this journey – and I understand their concerns. We have all heard stories of female hitchhikers being attacked. I admit the need to be careful but my drive to accomplish this cuts to my very core and I’m willing to take risks. Besides, we shouldn’t always underestimate people and expect the worst. Most folks are good hearted and only seeking their own place in the world. That’s all for now diary – it’s time to get walking. I’ll tell you everything that happened during my next entry.
