Buckle Down

It was no longer winter. The rains had stopped and there were promises of sunny days.

“Let’s go for a walk,” Lisa said. “I made a little harness for you.”

I was excited to take my first trip outdoors in my new harness, but walking with it was impossible.

I tried seventeen times, but over and over, I tipped over. Lisa’s mom reassured me, “The difficult is done immediately. The impossible takes a little longer.”

Finally I learned the art of leash walking.
