nside, Glittervoles was heaving with unicorns all dressed in wildly bright clothing with equally bright stripes of hair. There was a red glow about the place because of the windows, which were covered in red slime Scarlett Night decorations.

‘Now, let’s see if we can get our table, I did book one,’ Moya said. ‘Just need to find Suzette …’

Much to Neon’s amazement a squirrel with sprinkles for fur bounced from shoulder to shoulder through the crowd and landed at their feet.

‘Moya!’ it cried. ‘And, oh! Is this the human?’

‘Yep!’ Moya said. ‘Neon, this is Suzette. Suzette, this is Neon.’

‘You’re a squirrel!’ Neon cried. ‘Made of sprinkles!’

‘And you have eyes!’ the little squirrel said, leaning on her paws and looking up at Neon dreamily. ‘We’re learning so much about each other already!’

There was a BANG.

The whole place fell silent, and a fabric-smelling smoke wafted up Neon’s nose.

‘Oh!’ Suzette said, coughing a little. ‘Your outfit changed! Did you get THE SLIMY WARDROBE’S ENTIRE NEW SEASON COLLECTION GOO?’

Neon could feel her cheeks getting hot with embarrassment.

She looked down and her technicolour lace gown had been replaced with a rainbow knit cropped jacket and sequined shorts.

‘NOTHING TO SEE HERE!’ Suzette shouted. ‘JUST A HUMAN WHO HAS PURCHASED A VERY ATTENTION-GRABBING GOO!’

The hustle and bustle started up again and everyone got back to their conversations.

Neon frantically scanned the jar. ‘Is my outfit going to keep doing that?’

‘Just for a few hours, then it’ll wear off,’ Suzette said.
