I have no problem admitting that I’m a loud guy.

When I come home from work, I’m typically hungry, and the first thing that I do is go banging around in the kitchen, pulling out pots and pans and slamming food down onto the counter. I’ll usually throw on some music, and I’m partial to metal, so the cacophony only elevates from there.

This continues until my wife emerges from her quiet spot in the living room, weary and disoriented. She tells me to keep it down.

To Marilyn’s credit, she’s always does this in a very nice way, not a hint of anger in her voice. In fact, when I look back on our five years of marriage, I can’t think of a single time that I’ve actually seen her truly angry. Frustrated? Sure, every once in a while. Never anger, though.

Marilyn is the complete opposite of me in many ways, and this particular difference is only the most apparent of them. While my loudness may be extreme, it is only matched by her soft, quiet demeanor, which is taken to comic extremes when you learn that Marilyn is a librarian.

Never in my wildest dreams could I have imaged ending up with someone who makes a living out of telling everyone else to be quiet, but here I am. The best part is, despite our differences, Marilyn and I truly are in love with each other.

Who wouldn’t love a girl like Marilyn? Sweet and charming is only the beginning of what makes her so amazing, and I’d be crazy not to mention the fact that my wife is incredibly good looking.

Marilyn is slender and toned, her body a perfect example of genetics gone right. She maintains youthful, girlish good looks and a disarming smile, set with long brown hair that tumbles down around her shoulders, and looks even better when she pushes it up into a messy bun.

She’s got her hair up exactly like that when I see her this afternoon, sporting a white blouse and dark rimmed glasses to match for a full-on sexy librarian look. Marilyn is always so serious here at work, but at the moment I spot her, she appears to be stifling her laughter, trying not to cackle loudly from some joke that I’m not aware of.

Marilyn hasn’t seen me yet, and while I would normally just run up and give her a big hug, there is something unusual about today that stops me. Instead, I slink back behind one of the bookshelves, peering between the tomes and trying to make sense of the situation before me.

My wife is chatting quietly to a table of beautiful women, who all look up at her with a thinly veiled wonder. You could cut the bisexual tension with a knife, but Marilyn doesn’t seem to notice. Despite the fact that she was almost laughing moments earlier, there is still something stern about her presence, and it appears now that she is actually scolding them.
