A while later I heard a knock at the door and expected a call into the kitchen but Martin brought my bowl into the lounge with a generous helping of the food I'd chosen along with some rice. He put it down on my rug and flicked the TV on, eating his own meal off a tray on the sofa.

I really enjoyed the takeaway, it was perfect after such a sensual and relaxing afternoon and I ate every last mouthful and licked the sauce out of the bowl. Then I curled up on the rug, idly watching the banal Saturday night TV. There was a quiz show on, I was pleased to find I knew the answers to quite a few questions. I looked up at Martin and smiled; he was dozing on the sofa and looked cute with his round face and full cheeks.

A couple of hours later, Martin got up. He stroked the back of my neck and said, “bed time.” He left me, I felt colder without his presence so retired to my pet bed. I finished colouring the sky in the train drawing before switching the light off and going to sleep.
