Serena yawned as she walked down the street with Luna. The sun was hot, and Serena had just dealt with a full day of school and a rigorous video gaming session. She was definitely ready for a nap.

"Luna," she said. "Could you just go to this cram school place and bring Amy her disk without me? I need my beauty sleep."

Luna shook her head. "We need to check this place out, Serena. I've read advertisements about the school, and they insist their special Crystal Disks will turn anyone into a genius."

"Really?" Serena's eyes widened as she examined the disk in her hand. It looked normal enough. But could it turn her into a genius?

"Hey," she laughed happily. "Maybe I don't need to bum test answers from Amy after all. If I use this disk, I'll get as smart as she is in no time, and I can ace my tests and bust the Sailor V game!"

Luna growled. "I mean it sounds suspicious, Serena! And remember, Amy is very likely working with our Enemy."

Serena snorted. "That's ridiculous, Luna. Amy's probably the gentlest person I ever met. She may be a little anti-social, but she's definitely not evil."

"I find it amazing you call anyone who doesn't play Sailor V 24-7 anti-social," Luna muttered. "But I definitely feel a strong aura around Amy, and that's usually a tell-tale sign someone is working with the Enemy."

"That aura's probably just her massive brain waves," Serena answered as she entertained herself by tossing the disk into the air. "And I'm checking out this disk. I'm willing to try any short-cut to become a genius."

Luna scowled. "A miracle couldn't make you a genius, Serena."

Serena whipped her head at her cat. "That's not funny!" she snapped back. "You think that just because I don't study or pay attention in class or do any homework there's no way that I could become —"

"That's a really productive schedule, blondie."

Serena swung around. "Oh, great." She snarled. "It's you."

Sure enough, it was her dark-haired, fashion-conscious nemesis. Today he was decked out in Abercrombie's finest, with his traditional Oakleys.

"It's no wonder you get such terrible grades," he said mockingly. "Not only do you pigout constantly and rot your brain with comic books, you talk to your cat."

Serena clenched her fists. "At least my cat can hold a better conversation than you can!"

How dare he just walk out of nowhere and insult her! This jerk needed to get a life.

Pretty-boy lowered his shades and focused ocean blue eyes on her. "I'd normally make fun of you for that comment," he said quietly, "but I'm pretty sure a moment ago I heard that cat talk."

Serena froze, and Luna tensed by her side. had he heard Luna talking?

Serena began to laugh loudly, though her cheeks turned red. "That's ridiculous!" she shouted through her laughter. "Cats can't talk! You're so stupid! HAHAHA!"

Serena grabbed Luna, turned around, and ran away like lightning. She felt the guy's eyes on her as she dashed away, so she just ran faster. Two blocks later she finally stopped and fell to the ground.
