The existence of large time delays, time-varying parameters and nonlinearities are some of the other difficulties generally encountered in mineral processing control.

As illustrated in Fig. 12, one of the major attractions of the proposed methodology is that it can be readily used to design robust multivariable controllers that take account of all control loop interactions while still guaranteeing all users specified stability and performance requirements. As shown in Fig. 12, in the presence of disturbances the fuzzy logic controller model presents a response better than the conventional PID model.
