I stir, and a giant sexy bicep pulls me closer to him. He’s spooning me from behind. There’s a sweet and gentle kiss on my neck. I pull his arm around me tighter and glance up at the wall. I’m not sure where we are for a moment, and then I realize we’re on his couch in his office, wrapped in his arms and soft blanket. Wait. What? I sit up, and he does too, and it tosses me off the couch, and I land with a thud that reminds me of what happened before. Ouch, my ass hurts.

“Oh, my God. Are you ok? I’m so sorry.” He hurries to me.

I’m in a panic, “How long did I sleep? You didn’t tell me that might happen.”

“It doesn’t always. I don’t know, kitten, it’s like five or so.”

I leap up. The soreness is gone because all that adrenaline I thought I used up is back.

“SHIT!” I run out of his office in a frantic search for my purse and dress. He’s running after me, putting on a t-shirt that says, “Librarians do it between the pages.”

“Ana, stop. What’s wrong? Calm down.” I rush to him because his face is super concerned, as if I’m leaving because of him.

I kiss him quickly. “It’s not you. I regret absolutely nothing except sleeping through our time together and now leaving you. But I have to go.”

He takes my wrist, “No. Why? Please don’t. Stay with me. I had grand plans for our second date down at Shirley’s diner.”

I giggle as I toss my dress over my body and hand him his shirt. I don’t know where my bra is, and I don't have time to get it. I run around the room searching for my purse.

“Ana. Stop. Explain.”

I stop instantly and say, “My parents are leaving for Hawaii in an hour. They’re waking me up like right now. I’m going to have to pretend I went for a run or something. They’re driving me to the train station because I have to take the early train home to finish school stuff for work tomorrow.”

“Stay with me.”

“I can’t. I have to get the car back to them. It’s an impossible situation and I wish we had more time. Fuck do I wish we had more time.”

He crosses the room and yanks me to him, kissing me as if it’s supposed to last a lifetime. We’re thrashing our heads back and forth. And it’s a smooch that might actually be so good it could save the world from all that ails it.

I pull back, and he puts his forehead to mine. He says, “I feel like there’s so much more to say to you. But it’s for the best, I guess. There can’t be anything, my Little Kitten. You have a life to lead, but this was—.”

“I know. Thank you for taking care of me and for the mind-blowing orgasms.”

I kiss him again and run out of the library into the parking lot so I don’t chicken out and run back into his arms.
