Swaraj’s Interrogation

Swaraj was placed in a dark chamber. His son was placed in another chamber though a well-lit one. The son feared for his life now, knowing what had happened with his sister. He had some clear instructions from his father, and he needed to stick with them.

Rathore entered the room with Pratap and Rana. Swaraj was stripped down to his underwear. His spectacles were broken on the ground. He remained still like a dead body. His eyes were red, and his head was down under like it was held down by gravity. He saw four figures emerge from the door. Rathore, Latika, Pratap and Rana. He looked up and then again looked down. He waited for them to speak.

“You want to enlighten us a bit Swaraj?” asked Rathore once.

Swaraj was quiet. His head down again and he had nothing to add. He was only sure of one thing in his mind. And that was that Saima had killed the boys. He knew nothing else about anything, and he was worried about his son as well. He had lost one daughter, the other one was on the run, and his son was in danger here.

As for Saima, he knew how much she loved Meghna. She could kill for her. When they were six and nine years old, Saima had fought with a dog with her bare hands to protect Meghna. She suffered multiple wounds and the shots followed later, but she took them all, without any problems. She maintained a smiling face for Meghna just to tell her that she was in no pain. Meghna loved her back as much as well. Swaraj knew that if Saima had seen those videos, she would go to any extent to take revenge and she had taken the perfect revenge.

“I will ask you one more time. You want to tell us anything useful about your daughter Swaraj?” tried Rathore again.

“I don’t know anything. I have not spoken to her for a week, and neither has my son. My wife spoke to her, but she had nothing to share out of the ordinary. I am worried about Saima. Someone must have hurt her.” cried Swaraj.

“You are being very smart Swaraj. We killed your daughter, and you found a way to take revenge and that sweet little daughter of yours helped you in this. Swaraj trust me. I will find her and throw her to my dogs and watch them eat her. I will kill her in front of you. You have no idea Swaraj what you and your daughter have done. I will kill that bitch.” spoke Rana in anger.

Swaraj was quiet. Rathore broke in.

“Try and understand Swaraj. Kids dying is one thing, but the other problem is those videos and the kids blaming their fathers for the same. There is only one way out of all of this. If you knew nothing about it, I will keep you safe. We just need Saima to admit her crime. That would solve one big problem. Then we can try and prove those videos are fake and Pratapji and Ranaji will be out of it.
