Chapter Six: Wounded

“That was really out there,” Renee says to me as we get back to our hotel room. My wife moves toward the sofa on one side of the room and has a seat before turning on the television.

“Yeah, it was something,” I agree. “I’m guessing that they are pretty open about talking about sex, huh?”

She nods her head. “I guess so.” I watch my wife remove her sandals and pull her feet onto the sofa with her. Something bothers her.

“Are you alright?” I ask.

“I’m fine,” she replies flatly. “It was just a crazy day. You know, I don’t know that I want to spend any more time with them, Dom. Maybe we should just focus on each other during or vacation.”

“Um, okay.” I sit down beside her on the sofa. “Are you angry at them for some reason? Did one of them say something rude to you on the yacht?”

Renee shakes her head. “No, not really. Nothing that I care to rehash. It’s all good. I just want to spend a little more time with just the two of us, babe. That’s all.” My wife manages a quick smile before she turns her attention back to the television. However, I don’t want to let this go so easily. After all, the Dumond’s seem like a nice couple. They’re a lot like us in many ways.

“Look, they are pretty free when talking about sex. That bothers you, and I’m cool with not talking about that sort of thing with them. We just need to let them know that’s off limits for now.”

My wife turns her brilliantly blue eyes toward me. “You wanted to tell them, didn’t you? I could see it in your face, Dom. You wanted to tell Simon and Andrea that I’m a terrible sex partner.”

“What? Of course not!”

“Don’t deny it, dammit. I’m not a child. You and I both know that you’re not happy with our sex life. We don’t have the sort of passionate sex that they have. It’s obvious.” Renee pulls her feet out from under her and then stands up from the sofa. She walks over to a small refrigerator and pulls out a bottle of water from inside.

“I didn’t say anything to them and I didn’t want to,” I tell her. “They’re nice people but a little quirky. I never planned to say a thing about any of our personal disagreements.”

“Our disagreements,” she parrots. “What a way to say that you want me to do things that you know that I can’t. Dammit, Dominique. Why are you so driven by a desire to fuck me in the ass or have me swallow your semen?”

“Honey, we’re already past that. I’m not blaming you for anything. I’m not disappointed with you at all.” Of course, I’m lying to Renee. I am pretty disappointed that my own wife won’t at least suck me off to completion and try a little harder to swallow my spunk. That doesn’t mean that I don’t love her more than anyone else in the world and would do anything for her.
