4: Honeymoon – Jason

​My wife and I went on our honeymoon trip after five years of marriage. It's just that our marriage was done in a hurry when I was still doing my medical residency and she was finishing psychology school. By our carelessness, she got pregnant, and we decided to get married. It wasn't just because of the pregnancy; it was because we loved each other, and we already intended to get married anyway. We just had to anticipate our wedding, which was with no party, no honeymoon trip. We got married at the registry office only with the presence of our parents and some close friends and we returned to our normal life, me to my medical shift and her to class in college. Then our daughter was born and occupied all the little time we had, and we never got a chance to travel. Fortunately, our parents loved their granddaughter and helped us. But just now that she's no longer a baby, we take the courage to leave her alone like them, so we can go on a solo trip, just me and my wife. Combining our savings, we bought a one-week tour package in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in the world and, during vacations or holidays, the city is crowded, with people from all over the country and abroad. As we did not like so much excitement, we went out of season, even taking advantage that the price of the package was much lower.

​When we got there, we saw that the resort was not exactly in Rio de Janeiro, but rather in a nearby town, Buzios. But it was even good, because we went really in search of peace and we didn't even intend to leave the room much, after all, it was our honeymoon. And we didn't need to leave the resort that offered everything, with all the meals in a beautiful restaurant, a huge pool, with a beautiful view of the sea. On the first day, we also went to know the city of Rio de Janeiro, taking advantage of a tour offered by the resort. It was a bustling city, a congested metropolis. Which encouraged us even more to enjoy everything the resort offered.

​On the second day at the resort, we saw that a complimentary massage was offered, included in the package. My wife became interested and scheduled an appointment for the next day. And we went to spend the rest of the day in the hotel pool, which was almost empty. We had that huge pool just for us and a few people. I laid there in a reclining chair in the shade while my wife went swimming. I dozed a little, and when I woke up, she wasn't there with me yet. I looked for her in the pool, but it was empty, she should have left because the sun was too strong. Despite the large space around the pool, it wasn't hard to see her.
