The ball fell through the hoop, and Joe yelled, “Wooo hooo! The Flash is back!”

No one else cheered.

Coach Jenkins’s face turned red. “Hit the showers, Joe,” he said quietly. “You’re done for today. If you can’t play smart basketball, you won’t play at all.”

Shocked, Joe stood silently in front of the nineteen other players. They all stared at him, but no one spoke.

Joe opened his mouth, but no words came out. He looked at Adam and Brian, but they both quickly looked down at the ground.

Joe stood there, all alone. Then he turned and ran into the locker room.
